Hadi

PEER MENTOR

Hadi Abdul is a Pakistani-Canadian Muslim artist whose work centers on feelings, especially the kind that don’t translate easily into words.

Having moved to Canada early in his life as a 1.5-generation immigrant, he has long been interested in how the fragments of one’s identity come together to shape one’s sense of self.

This curiosity extends beyond the personal. Hadi is deeply interested in community: how art fosters connection, how the spaces we build shape the lives we live, and how each person plays a role in our society. Working primarily through photography, he captures the feelings of being human. Those experienced deeply, yet resistant to articulation.

At it’s core, his practice is about making space for what cannot be easily said.
